Lake Buena Vista is known for being the home of Walt Disney World Resort. Even though you would never guess it, Lake Buena Vista is a municipality that is owned by Disney Corporations. It is a beautiful town with many exciting attractions and easy access from any area in Central Florida and all the major highways.  Many locals enjoy the less used 535 and Lake Buena Woods or the Reams Road entrances into the heart of Disney World.

The city Lake Buena Vista actually means good view and was probably named for Buena Vista Street in Burbank California. This is where Walt Disney Corporation is located. Most people think Disney World Resort is in Orlando, but its actually a few miles southwest of Orlando just off of I-4 and is neighbors to the sought after community of Dr Phillips.

In 1970 Lake Buena Vista only had a population of 12 people. Then in the 1970s  Disney World was built and that opened a lot of jobs. People started to move to nearby cities like Orlando, Kissimmee, and Windermere, which are only minutes away. Many homes in the Orlando area and surrounding communities were inexpensive at that time. Since then, Orlando homes for sale have continued to grow. Who wouldnt want to live in an area that has beautiful weather all year long, swaying palm trees on every street, and attractions galore.

Besides the Disney parks and resorts, there are many other attractions in Lake Buena Vista area. You can go to water parks, race with friends driving go carts, relax at spas, and enjoy the different cuisines at the many restaurants. My favorite is Downtown Disney, which has something for everyone. We cant forget sports, for golfers there are plenty of golf courses nearby both private and public.
