Kissimmee Sign Kissimmee is a great place to call home, located in Osceola County, just minutes from Florida's turnpike making all of Orlandos attractions and theme parks such as Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World  less than 30 minutes away.  Kissimmee is considered the County seat of  Osceola County with a population of 56,153 as of the 2004 U.S. Census Bureau.
 

 In 1800, Kissimmee was originally a small trading post on the Northern bank of  Lake Tohopekaliga known as the community of Allendale. By 1883, 33 of 36 registered voters voted to incorporate Allendale as Kissimmee City. With 19.65 square miles of land area Kissimmee has a lot to offer, with a wide range of recreation and parks including 35 park sites with more than a dozen ball fields, 16 tennis courts and 6 playgrounds.
