Ocoee is one of Florida's oldest historical cities

Ocoee Florida

The historic city of Ocoee is located ten miles west of Orlando, nestled between two beautiful lakes, Lake Apopka and Starke Lake. This city of 30,000 was originally settled by Dr. J. D. Starke, who moved here in the mid 1850's hoping to survive an outbreak of malaria.  The fresh and pure waters of the nearby lakes proved to be beneficial to Starke and his followers.  They made this part of Central Florida home and began to build the town.  The city of Ocoee became known as the "Center of Good Living".  Todays progress and past traditions have made Ocoee what it is today.
