Dr. Phillips Lakes : According to the US Census Dr. Phillips is covered by 29.9 percent water, that's alot of lakefront homes and a boater's Paradise.  The Butler Chain of Lakes : The Bultler Chain or also known as the Windermere Chain was basically a result of sinkholes that were formed by eroding Limestone known as Karst topography.  Rainwater is the main source of water which is a huge 4,720-acres and some spots as deep as 40 feet.  The pristine Butler Chain of Lakes is made up of twelve inter-connecting lakes; Butler, Down, Little Down, Louise, Isleworth, Wauseon Bay, Chase, Tibet-Butler, Blanche, Sheen, Pocket and Fish Lake.  These lakes allow for all types of water activities but have a regulated 36-mph speed limit to protect shorelines and the Lake's ecosystem.  Just like the speed limits through these towns you must obey these regulations and the Orange County Sherriffs office patrol these waters by boat to ensure that everyone does. Whether you are up for a day of waterskiing, wakeboarding, jetskiing, fishing for Bass or just having a blast relaxing on "Bird Island", the Butler Chain of Lakes is sure to make you feel as if you are on vacation everyday!
